Just a quick post today with some updates, some of which I’ll be expanding upon later, but no time today.
We got our new bees for the hive last Sunday. We’re trying this bee thing again only this time we’re reading the book and hopefully things will go better. Fun pictures of the bee hiving process in an upcoming post.
While the weather was good last weekend, I spent some time in the garden. I pruned some primocane raspberries that hadn’t been pruned since I planted them like three years ago. These are the kind that are supposed to be cut down every fall, but hey, I didn’t know, so I just let them grow. Turns out three year old raspberry vines try to re-plant themselves. More in another upcoming post.
There’s another preparedness fair in the Salt Lake area this Saturday. Check out the details on the Utah Preppers blog. They’re also giving away tickets to it, so if you can get to that, you might be able to get in FREE! Free is good.
I have a cheap plant obsession. I swore this year I was going to focus on moving to another house and not put too much into the garden hoping to not be here in the fall, but the extension office had cheap onion starts, so of course I had to pick some up. 75 for $3.00. WHY didn’t I listen to myself??? The garden isn’t even plowed or ready for anything and so I had to plant them in a pot on my back porch last night. I’m so weird.
And why the short post today? Because I’m headed up to the Shelf Reliance convention in Salt Lake for the next couple of days and leaving here in about an hour and still have to take a shower!!!
So that’s it for now from me. I’ll let you know what new products Shelf Reliance is coming out with when I get back! Now I really need to get going. Have a great weekend!
Keep preparing! Angela

I enjoyed reading your posts, My Wife and I have just recently gotten serious about prepping. THe more you know the more you find out you need to know. I ordered a 6 month food supply and they say it has a life of 25 years. I wanted to start buying large cans of food at our local Sams to go with what we have. Water purification and water storage are pretty high on our lists. Thanks again for the service that you provide. Will check back.
