Welcome to my house for a video review of some freeze dried lasagne from Daily Bread. The process is the same for rehydrating most brands of freeze dried meals, so even if you are not interested in Daily Bread’s meals, you’ll at least see how easy it is to “cook” freeze dried food. Sorry the lighting is a bit dark–I did it after all the kids were in bed. Well, except my little helper who decided to wake back up by the end. Enjoy!
Keep preparing! Angela

I went to the Daily Bread website, but interestingly, no prices; you have to be contacted by a representative. Are they reasonable?
I have a very minor dehydrator, and will have the Excalibur by next spring, and I look so forward to drying more than just apples.

I have never purchased from them personally–this was one of their sample packs, so can’t say what their prices are like compared to any other place. I’m not a real fan of being contacted by somebody to sell me food storage, but some folks like someone else to take the guess work out of what to store, so I guess the representative method works for some. Sorry I’m not much help on this one.

Hi Again,
Not sure you will want to post this, but… I just bought an Excalibur 9 tray with timer on Ebay. The company frequently lists their damaged in production items. I saved a bunch of money, enough to get the paraflex sheets which shipped for free with the dehydrator and still had money left from the price of a “new” one. The top of their line (the one I got) comes with the full 10 year warranty too. And I cannot find one thing that is wrong with it. Plus, they offer their 30 day money back or exchange too. Just check that it is coming from the company. They tell you about selling them on their web page, so I am not telling secrets out of place, lol. Just love mine, and I know you market them too. But thought you might be interested in this info, as I know others that are now buying them this way.

Debbie, that’s awesome! I didn’t know they sold their “seconds” like that. They won’t let their dealers sell the model with the timer, so if someone’s wanting the timer model this would be a great way to get it. Thanks for the information. :)

That is a Mountain House product. Of the 10 or so meals that Daily Bread sells about 1/2 come from Oregon Freeze Dry (Mountain House) and this lasagna with meat sauce is one of those. They are the only food company to get an agreement with OFD to private label a Mtn House product.
Also another interesting tid bit, Daily Bread is the door to door sales arm of Food Insurance (their online sales channel). They have advertised a lot with Glenn Beck this past year and are about 2+ years into the business.

I knew OFD made Mountain House and figured this was the same product. Thanks for the extra info on Daily Bread.
