I have to apologize for the lack of posting this last week. I’m afraid I’ve spent too much time on the election, and now that it’s over I’m speechless. I am absolutely dumbfounded that the majority of our nation wants to continue on the path we’re on, enact an unconstitutional health care law we can’t afford, take more from the “rich” and give it to those who aren’t even trying to work for it thereby killing the drive to work for all involved, keep borrowing and spending money we DO NOT HAVE, increase taxes on people who are barely able to keep afloat already, increase dependence on government, and more. At the point this nation is at, and the speed at which we’re headed for the edge of the fiscal cliff, there would have been trouble no matter who won the election, but with this administration at the helm, recovery will be slow to non-existent. I am more afraid tonight than ever for the future of my children. Tucked my baby into bed and cried for what he will have to live with because of the decisions our nation is making. But you know I’m not going to just sit around and pout. I have some things I need to get done around here over the next couple of days so I’m going to work through my mood and I’ll be back with more practical preparedness posts when I feel a little less dark inside. In the meantime, please visit my sponsors or your local store and get that preparedness gear and food you’ve been putting off. You’ll be glad you did.
Keep preparing! Angela

I completely agree. I cannot believe that there are truly THAT many ignorant Americans. I log onto my facebook and all I read is “OBAMAAA <333" "ROMNEYY <333" "WHOS IT GONNA BE? OBAMA OR ROMNEY?" It is complete ignorance. Vote for Obama, repeat history, vote for Romney, repeat history in a different way. Just because you watch Fox news three times a week does not mean you know what is going on. I need to stay away from facebook to prevent bursting an artery. I wish people paid attention. No one knows what the NDAA is, no one knows why we are at war, no one knows that we are policing the entire world and it will bite back, no one knows that we are digging our own graves. No one cares…

Even though I live in Australia, I just about cried as well. The next four years will have a huge effect on all the world. I am stepping up my preparations because I know things are going to landslide downhill from now on. Look forward to reading your posts when you come back.

As you said dumbfounded is what I am also. I cried when Clinton was elected and we watched as character flew out the window. I was angry when this man was elected the first time but this time I’m simply stunned. I’m not even sure how to regroup. I don’t know whether to get more involved or slip into obscurity. Today the best I can hope for is that my husband and family will finally come to their senses and get on board with me. Right now I need to finish prepping.

I’m with ya. Take care and we’ll see you in a few days.

I am having the same feelings today. I keep going through the why and the how could people not care or listen. I truly believe that we are very lazy. Every person that was an Obama supporter that I talked to could only give me sound bites from his negative campaign ads as to the reason why I should vote for him. That saddens me because I know that if you really want to know your candidate you must look deeper than a political campaign ad. The media will not share the details because they seem to have rosy opinion of him that I do not share.
I am no expert but I cannot see how taking from the people that actually are successful and are making money will sustain an economy of folks who don’t want to work. If you get enough of folks dependent on your handouts though they will follow you everywhere, all the way to the collapse when there are no more handouts left.

This will pr’bly get me flamed, but I’ll say it since there are no opposing opinions here- I (sadly) voted for Obama for one extremely important reason-
The Supreme Court Justices likely to be appointed in the next four years.
My (former) party has gone completely insane. Elections used to not include reproductive decisions. Other people’s religion has no bearing upon my or my daughter’s bodies. President Reagan would be sad to see the state of his party.
Melanie Kim says
Your former Republican party has not ENTIRELY gone insane. There was Ron Paul. Ron Paul was running against Romney and he was the last hope before the complete collapse of freedom in America.

Ditto… I’m in total shock… literally cannot believe this – in shock…. More of the same or worse :( I did my part of prepping today ..Invested in my personal “precious metals” …. lead…. It was all I could think of to do…. Who can tell what is coming next :?

I’m sorry, Angela. And I’m sorry for our children. As my father said, “We just lost our country.”

Hello, I’ve heard this repeated many times over so let’s begin with a history lesson. FDR enacted Social Security and it was good seeing that the WWII vets would fund the system well with a baby boom population to boot. But what wasn’t expected was a virtual shutdown and massive reversal of births no doubt due to Roe V. Wade. What was once affecting the whites permeated into the black races with the Hispanics multiplying like rabbits (meaning no disrespect). But ever since the 1970’s politicians “raided” the Social Security Fund so many times that a complete audit would be impossible. Nixon may have been a great Statesman to open a dialogue with Soviet Russia and Communist China. He also too us off the gold standard as well as trashing the usary rate–the maximum interest rate allowable by law. The financiers made the Ford admin impotent until (R) Ronald Reagan got into office with his “trickle down” that defied gravity and trickled up. How often we forget that Reagan literally outspent the Soviet Union whose economy collapsed. That didn’t happen here but the Federal Deficit gre exponentially to new highs yet no one said a thing but called Reagan the “great communicator.” Hard liners held fast in key places in the Senate and House and one in particular an unsteady rabble rouser like Gingrich who later fell from grace just as did Clinton. In fact during the Clinton admin. we had a fiscal surplus that happened a very long time ago. Call me an idiot if you will but Clinton to me was by far one of the most intelligent and visionary presidents we’ve had since Thomas Jefferson. Falling from grace due to an affair although irresponsible, he nonetheless was caught and before him many Presidents had other lovers beyond their wives and sadly now it seems as though to be commonplace in all ranks of a Presidential Administration. Just be too careful to pass judgment by pointing a finger unless you are certain you aren’t remotely having had, having an afair out of wedlock. No one has listened to Al Gore about climate change but many are reconsidering given the last “perfect storm.” Middle age Bush passed a tax relief for the rich whereas now Boehner our new “Speaker” Is on record of rasing any taxes at all. The slippery slope due to catch us all will occur on Jan1,20134. There is no room for compromise.
Rather than focus on one man more focus should have been devoted to those being elected for the House and Senate. I didn’t think Romney had a chance due to the women and black voters. Riding on those coattails were the Hispanics but they were uncertain but many I have spoken with would have voted for Romney (I did) but the whites I know didn’t give Romney a chance to win. That can paralyze any person seeking office. One has to recall that over a course of time a person is “groomed” for the job. True Obama on his 1st candidacy wasn’t groomed but given the plethora of choices no one knew which way matters would have gone. I say “groomed” by the fact that they are either a Rhodes School, graduate of West Point, some tenure in the CFR or Triad or any such think tanks recognized by those who wear clothes in black. That is not to say that every election is rigged to those that conform all the time; The middle and working class do time to time get a President. I can recall in the 1970’s-1980’s where there was still a viable middle class who bought campers, had their hobbies, went camping spreading their wealth wherever that may be and not on a bi-annual or Annual basis.
I don’t know where people now obtain the funds to make purchases for Christmas. I am a single disabled veteran having been paralyzed for 24 years now. As usual the VA is inept and reluctant to treat the many sicknesses that come my way. If matters get to ratty I’ll just utilize Medicare since I was intelligent enough to get it when it was offered rather than rely on one single source since I heard people say they wouldn’t take their dog to the VA. Although that’s appropriate, I dig my fingers to be proactive in my care. But one must take note that Medical Residents–not “attending physicians” by the 100% rule–actually provide the health care all whilst making mistakes. Surely my comrades deserve better.
The only answer I can provide when people are and have been so let down after this election which carries an electroal mandate—is the fact that therte is no political party member capable for the Presidency unless they have an outstanding grasp of American History and a Constitutional Scholar. Coming up short of that the only recourse is a dictator. While on one hand Natioalism of the economy may be good I see no further way to govern people’s behavior. Only when the wealthy grow more in population agreeing to the fact they can afford a raise in their taxes could this be averted. Sad to say matters have grown to class warfare. We can also begin to clean up the language in our songs, writings, movies, and television. Does a problem really go away avoiding the 4 letter word beginning with F and use the word “darn” instead? It’s a matter of culture and good taste because using the 4 letter word with “F” doesn’t seem to take the problem go away any faster. Why not compose another Bible with New Testament using all cuss words. My matter of semantics hopefully beginning to shed new light. Those nerdy “gollie gee willigards” TV shows showing how to behave and dance with a girl or woman hopefully is credible too. Now these days you walk out on a dance floor and just shake and push gyrating bodies far too close for any man or woman to have respect. I grew up on the cusp of the disco age and while John Travolta was classy almost as good as Astaire and Rogers. I merely state that times were simpler with class though not ever perfect. But the wealthy must realize that they depend upon the middle fish just as well as the smaller fish. While we give thanks to the wealthy giving food to pantries it won’t substitute for a viable middle class and working class where hope and opportunity is not extinguished but more hopeful to attain. Whilst out government gives billions of dollars for food worldwide in contrast we are the largest supplier yet we cannot sustain such generosity because we have priorities at home and we have people just as impoverished. When a woman in middle age cannot work she is given $14.00 for food stamps and I dare anyone to live one month exclusively upon that all within the midst to play life by the rules to have a car, have insurance with unchecked free market gas prices as steady as a needle from a seismographic needle during a terrible earthquake. Whereas our nearest contributor gives 500 million dollars sitting atop of oil reserves bound to be plentiful hundreds of years from now. It’s time for other nations to give their fair share ans not profiteering at OPEC meetings whilst our military will surely “protect our interests.” Reality is tremendously askew and allowing the British and Germans assist would and should be highly condiered to share. Our currency should not always be the one to be suspect and allowance for other currencies will level the playing field. I doubt seriously that Germany would be adversarial ever again and protecting the “crown jewels” are not in our interest either. I’m certain much is spoken at the G-20 Summit Meetings. It’s about time we allow the rest of the world to grow up and share in the responsibilities
At the beginning of the 1900’s we buried our heads in the sand with other international business. Less than 30 years later we found out otherwise and for us to think during the 20th and beginning 21st Century we should be involved everywhere is a bite we cannot chew. Our intelligence of course should be active to prevent another 9-11 with the mandate that we can’t be there every instance along the way since there are other intelligence forces able to thwart trouble as well.
I believe matters domestically in many facets including internationally require a complete change. From mandating that farmers will no longer get paid not to plant anything, corporate welfare, the acceptace of PAC money in offices or other places should be outlawed, term limits, to scaling back the foreign aid we provide and having those with the money to give more and allowing some independence to industrialized countries to assist with foreign aid and militarily, is not too much to ask from all those who will be impacted. The sharing of aid from other countries with allow our footed cleats to dig into our slippery slope and allow us to come out ahead. Otherwise you will see an economic diaster worse than 1929 and forget the losses of anyone’ IRA, we will owe other countries and individuals from countries in which could possibly produce a world war or worse a war of terror full blown unimaginable upon our soil.
Regards,
Ken

Agreed that it amazes how uninvolved people are when it comes to how they vote. Most just watch the news media and vote accordingly. Who actually reads up on candidates/propositions, then vote I know I do. Oh and the other current habit of voting according to a biased website that doesn’t even contain the actual write up of proposition!
Most people only go as far as to stand by the banner what ever it may be (and the banner sounds so good though) and cause it looks so appealing they accept it all and hand over more of our freedoms. There’s a huge part of society that thinks it’s normal to treat government like a parent and forfeit our rights in hopes of being taken care of. Yet most don’t trust government yet it’s these same people that think only government can fix our problems. I think we might need a psychologist to step in to administer to these people.
Obamacare (No) unconstitutional has been stopped each time, Keystone Pipeline (No) Obama change, yea right. Obama tried to take away internet his first term, and even jumped on the pro-vaccine platform.
