I’m headed up to Honeyville Foods’ Ribbon cutting ceremony for their new Salt Lake store today. I’ll have a report for you when I get back. If you’re in the area, Chef Tess will be holding classes there next week–check out the schedule and then you can check out the new store and learn something new at the same time! You can also catch her classes in Arizona and other Utah locations.
The giveaway for the 1000′ roll of paracord ends tonight, so be sure to get your entries in!
Congratulations to William M. who won the UVPaqlite assortment giveaway! The mystery item in that giveaway was waterproof matches.
Hopefully you’re enjoying the giveaways! We’ve got one more week of National Preparedness Month and some fun items still to give!
I just put a WHOLE LOT of corn in the freezer from our garden planted July 1-6 of this year. July is not too late to plant! Well, at least where I live. My daughter walked by as I was running the cobs through the cutter with the drill and said, “Are you going to do that to all the corn? Aren’t you going to leave any for us to just eat?” Yes, dear. There are two more rows we haven’t even picked yet. I’m actually hoping to just eat and share those rows–I’m tired of doing corn already.
And because it’s already late and I’ve got an early morning, but hey, you still might want to read something fantastic, here are just a few links to some of my favorite posts from across the prepper blogosphere the last week:
Creek Stewart’s EDC pack. Not much reading required–it’s on the picture!
How to Pick the Best Pair of Hiking Boots. Actually covers many types of footwear.
Pear Sauce Canning Recipe. Like applesauce, only with pears. I made some pear butter–that post will be coming sometime soon.
And lastly, I just saw that a new twitter follower is a director of government reform in Illinois. At least he’s got job security. ;) Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to enter all the ongoing giveaways!
Keep preparing! Angela
